Overcoming a phobia...sort of!

Firstly, sorry for the lack of blogging...life has certainly got in the way! Very settled in our new home...busy making it look nice and welcoming.

As the weather has been rather warm of late I've started on our back yard...which means overcoming a phobia of mine...snails! Yes I'm very very scared of them..slugs too! I come over all hot and panicky if I see one and of course the yard has quite a few of these animals. Well today I bravely managed to remove one from a plant pot...by flicking it away! Feel so proud of myself and hopefully this means that I'm going to be able to really make the yard a lovely place full of colour..providing the snails don't eat my precious plants!

So what phobia(s) do you have if any?

Candy stripe Phlox - re-potted even with a snail in the way!

  1. I hate slugs and snails too, tho' I can just about pick up snails. I have a real hate of leeches- I would scream and scream if I got one on me. Luckily I've never come across one in my garden!!

  2. Glad you're settling in to your new home. Decorating and making things pretty is so much fun in a new house(though hard work too!) And what pretty flowers!

I do admire you tackling your phobia. Mine in spiders, but there is NO WAY I could flick one away. I have to leave the room/house/country until someone else has dealt with it lol!

  3. I scream and scream if I see a snail or slug so I think I'm doing quite well! Although on Sunday we tackled all the debris left by the previous tenants and there were so many snails I couldn't handle it...so I stayed in and did some chores whilst Dale got rid of them!
